Antique Japanese Scroll Painting by Misao Kawabune "Minamoto no Yoritomo Falconry Hunt" – Musha-e / Historical Warrior Art (Genuine Work).

Immerse your space in the heroic atmosphere of samurai history with this magnificent, authentic Kakejiku (hanging scroll). Titled "Minamoto no Yoritomo Taka-gari-zu" (Minamoto no Yoritomo Falconry Hunt), this hand-painted masterwork was brushed by the distinguished historical painter

Misao Kawabune (1887–1980).

The painting depicts the legendary first Shogun of Japan, Minamoto no Yoritomo, mounted on a majestic white steed during a grand falconry expedition—a highly esteemed sport among the samurai elite. Accompanied by a retainer handling a hunting hound (ryoken) on foot, the composition captures a powerful moment of poise and command. The upper section of the scroll unfurls into a beautiful, atmospheric landscape featuring a mist-covered mountain peak, expertly capturing the Tosa school's delicate yet powerful approach to historical line work.
