Born in Shiga Prefecture .

Known as a leading figure and pillar of the Osaka art world (Osaka Gadan), he won numerous awards at National Painting Exhibitions and Industrial Exhibitions. He specialized in vibrant bird-and-flower paintings (Kacho-ga) and aquatic life.
